PIH has a particularly strong field supervision team, with considerable experience and
knowledge of spoolbase, offshore, and onshore operations and all PIH coating systems. Their responsibility is to:
- Ensure that all safety requirements are known and implemented
- Manage the project as a whole
- Ensure that all required equipment and materials are maintained and available
- Liaise with the client on a day-to-day basis
- Attend production meetings
Field supervisors have direct access to specialist QA and HSE personnel within the PIH organization if required. The function of line supervisors is to manage line production and ensure that QA and safety requirements are met. PIH coating technicians are all fully trained in equipment operation and coating procedures.
PIH operates a dedicated training school at our Burnley facility, through which new technicians are trained prior to arrival onsite. This facility is also used to train experienced operators in the use of newly developed equipment and to ensure that all PIH personnel are adequately trained in all aspects of on-the-job safety. At present the PIH training school is an Energy and Utilities Skills (EUS) accredited facility training technicians to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 2 or 3.
